Privacy notice
Draft for review. This text has not yet been checked by a POPIA practitioner. The responsible party details and the Information Officer below must be confirmed before launch.
Who is responsible for your information
PhakamaFolio is a product of Clekzo Studio, Johannesburg, South Africa. Clekzo Studio is the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Contact: studio@clekzo.com. Information Officer: to be confirmed and registered.
What we collect and why
- Your email address, to sign you in with a magic link.
- Confirmation that you are 18 or older, because the service is for adults.
- The kit details you enter: handle, name, bio, niche, location, platform stats, rates and contact details. We use these to build your kit.
- If you publish, the public parts of your kit are visible to anyone with the link. Your WhatsApp number and email appear on the public kit only if you add them as contact options.
- If you switch on Open to brand collaborations, a record of when you agreed and which version of the wording you saw.
Hlanganisa Collective sharing
Sharing with the Hlanganisa Collective is optional and off by default. If you switch it on, the Collective team can see your name, niche, location, platform stats and contact details in a private roster, used only to match you to brand briefs and contact you about them. You can switch it off at any time and we stop sharing and remove you from the roster.
Where your information is stored
Your account and kit data are stored with Supabase in Frankfurt, Germany. This means your information is transferred outside South Africa. We rely on POPIA section 72 for this transfer. The legal basis we will state for it is to be confirmed by a POPIA practitioner before launch.
The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Sign-in emails are sent through Resend. Both act on our behalf to run the service. Payment processing through PayFast is not switched on yet; this notice will be updated before it is.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold, correct it, or delete it. You can unpublish your kit and leave the Collective roster yourself in the app. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Retention periods: to be confirmed before launch.
