Media kit refund and cancellation policy

Quick facts
- Own it is a one-off digital purchase and cannot be cancelled once paid.
- Host it and Studio are subscriptions you can cancel at any time.
- A cancellation takes effect at the start of the following month, and you keep your features until then.
- Your plan starts immediately when you accept our Terms and Conditions and pay. Because the service has started with your consent, we do not refund a change of mind.
- If you pay for Host it by the year and cancel, the plan runs to the end of the year you paid for and does not renew. We do not refund the rest of the year.
- Your rights under South African law are not affected by this policy.
How to cancel Host it or Studio
Email info@phakamafolio.co.za from the address you signed up with and say you want to cancel. We confirm by reply and tell you the date it ends.
Your cancellation takes effect at the start of the following month. You are not charged again after that date, and you keep Host it or Studio features until then. An in-app cancel button is planned and will replace the email step.
You can cancel at any time. We ask for written notice, and email counts. If you pay for Host it by the year, see the next section.
Cancelling a yearly Host it plan
If you pay for Host it by the year and cancel, you keep Host it until the end of the year you paid for, and it does not renew. We do not refund the rest of the year. If you would rather stay flexible, choose the monthly plan, which you can cancel at the start of any following month.
What happens to your kit after you cancel
Your kit page stays live at the same link. The footer comes back, the page falls back to the Minimal template and Host it features are locked. Your content is kept.
What you bought with Own it stays yours: the PDF export, the data export and the templates for exports.
Refunds
Plans are digital and start immediately. When you accept the Terms and Conditions and pay, you ask us to start your plan straight away, and the Terms explain that the seven-day cooling-off right for online purchases does not apply to a service that has started with your consent. For that reason we do not refund a payment because you changed your mind or no longer need the plan.
If something we sold you does not work as described, or you were charged in error or twice, email info@phakamafolio.co.za with the date and the email address on your account. We will fix the problem or refund the amount that was charged in error.
Nothing in this policy limits the rights you have under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. If the law gives you a right that this policy does not mention, you keep that right.
Black November and cancelling
The Black November 50% is a price for members who buy or activate a plan between 1 and 30 November 2026. If you cancel a subscription, a later purchase is at the standard price.
If a payment fails
If a Host it or Studio payment fails, hosting lapses and your page behaves as described under what happens after you cancel. Paying again restores everything straight away.
Questions about refunds and cancelling
- Can I cancel my Host it or Studio plan?
- Yes. You can cancel at any time by emailing info@phakamafolio.co.za. The cancellation takes effect at the start of the following month.
- Do I keep my features until the cancellation takes effect?
- Yes. You keep Host it or Studio features until the start of the following month and are not charged again after that.
- Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
- No. When you accept the Terms and Conditions and pay, your plan starts immediately, and a service that has started with your consent is not refunded for a change of mind.
- Is there a seven-day cooling-off period?
- The seven-day cooling-off right for online purchases does not apply to a service that has started with your consent. Our Terms and Conditions, which you accept when you buy, start your plan immediately.
- What if I was charged twice or charged in error?
- Email info@phakamafolio.co.za with the date and your account email. We will fix the problem or refund the amount charged in error.
- Can I cancel Own it?
- No. Own it is a one-off digital purchase. What you bought stays yours.
